First in a new series of Authentic Indian cooking workshops which will be conducted at Zenxin shop.
We have had to postpone this class until August 26th so you have another chance at Early Bird pricing!
The Rajasthani cuisine workshop will now take place on Sunday 26th August starting at 2:00pm.
Located in North Western India, Rajasthan is an arid region with scorching days and cold nights and the scarcity of water results in a lack of many fresh fruit and vegetables. The cuisine uses ghee liberally, a rich array of spices and beans and lentils ground into flours. It is also predominantly a vegetarian cuisine.
Rajasthani flatbreads are made out of staples grown in the region such as corn, barley and millet, with wheat being added only recently. The grain is milled into flour and the breads are dry roasted in frying pans and served with a liberal dose of ghee.
An experienced vegetarian and vegan chef, Manisa can show you how to adapt vegetarian recipes to make them vegan.
As with the previous Zenxin workshops the format will be instruction, including demo with recipes and tastings to share.
Rajasthani Menu:
Latcha paratha
Tarka Dhal
Gatteh ki sabji
Kheer
