Highlights: Jazz is a trademarked brand of the ‘Scifresh’ cultivar of domesticated apple. ‘Scifresh’ is a cross between ‘Royal Gala’ and Braeburn. The original cross was made in 1985 on trees at Goddard Lane, Havelock North, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand and has been developed as a collaborative project between apple marketer ENZA, orchardists and the NZ Plant & Food Research institute.

Crisp and juicy, this apple has flushes of red and maroon colour over shades of green, yellow and orange. Now grown in both northern and southern hemispheres, it is available all year round.
