Highlights: Broccolini is a relatively recent hybrid made by Sakata Sed Company in 1993 from crossing broccoli 西兰花 Xī lán huā with Kai Lan 凯 兰 Kǎi lán. This tender vegetable is also known as broccolette or broccoletti. Its long stems are subtly sweet and its spear-shaped florets are packed with beneficial phytonutrients.

Like its parents, organic broccolini belongs to the Brassica or cabbage family known for their protective carotenoid antioxidants and sulforaphanes.

It’s best just steamed, laid gently beside your steak and drizzled with mushroom sauce or stir-fried, oriental style.
