(Wild yeast occur naturally on grape skins, so wine-making was a natural next step after grape domestication.)

Organic grapes are extremely versatile berries and apart from being made into wine, they are eaten fresh and made into juice, jellies, jams and vinegar. The dried fruit yields raisins, currants and sultanas and the seeds contain beneficial oligomeric proanthocyanidins and are pressed for grape seed oil.
