Highlights: The Baobab tree is a member of the Malvaceae family like okra )Lady’s finger), durian and cacao. They are native to Madagascar, mainland Africa, SW Asia and Australia where they have adapted to store water in their trunks during the rainy season and produce fruit during the dry season.

This powder is made from the nutritious fruit of the Baobab tree and has a citrusy flavour. It is minimally processed and rich in fibre. The fibre is thought to improve digestive health and prevent conditions like constipation, intestinal ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease and haemorrhoids.

It is also rich in antioxidants including vitamin C and is thought to be antimicrobial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory.
