Organic Orange Navel (1 pkt) South Africa/Spain/Australia
$9.90
Origin: Spain/Australia
Status: Organic
Certification: NASAA
Highlights: Navel oranges are distinguished by the navel like mark at the bottom of the fruit where a smaller second fruit seems to be developing. The earliest observation of this mutation was seen in Portugal and subsequently in Brazil. As the fruit is seedless, it is propagated by cutting and grafting and using this method, the variant was sent to Australia in 1824 and Florida in 1835. They are the predominantly early variety or oranges planted in Australia. They have a good flavour and a medium to high juice content.
Disclaimer: Orange skin might have some brownish spots.

PAULINE WAN –
It is on the small side so it is quite expensive considering how much a non organic conventional orange cost. BUT after the first bite, its worth it because it is sweet & juicy plus I can use the zest worry free. The skin is thin so it makes great candied orange for my bakes.
