Highlights: Red dragon fruit, Pitaya roja (Selenicereus costaricensis) 火龙果 Huǒ lóng guǒ, is a delicious, tropical superfood that comes with a wealth of health benefits. Originating in Central America, it is now grown in  South East Asian countries. It belongs to the cactus family, which totally makes sense because of its spiky outer layer looking like dragon scales.
