Highlights: The Spanish citrus season is beginning! These mandarins have a beautiful orange colour inside and out and are easy to peel. The fruit flesh is juicy, with a delightful aroma and almost no seeds.

Organic mandarin oranges (Citrus reticulata) 橘子Jú zi is thought to have been one of the original citrus species and the ancestor of many of the modern day cultivars. They contain the highest levels of the carotenoid β-cryptoxanthin, a form of provitamin A, which is responsible for their rich colour. They also contain vitamin E (tocopherol) which helps maintain cell wall integrity. They are packed full of water soluble vitamin B & C with ~4 mandarins supplying the daily requirement for both provitamin A and vitamin C.
