Highlight: This varietal was created in California in the 1800’s and named ‘Valencia’ after the Spanish region famous for producing sweet oranges. The Valencia orange is juicy and has a perfect sweet-tart ratio, making ideal for juicing. The juice is delicious in marinades, vinaigrettes and even syrups for cocktails. Having a thin skin it also makes excellent marmalade.

One medium Valencia orange provides enough immune-boosting vitamin C to cover the recommended daily requirement (RDA) ~116%, plus vitamin A 6% RDA, vitamin B1 (Thiamine) 8% RDA, vitamin B9 (Folate) 10% RDA, Potassium 7% RDA, Calcium 5% RDA and contributes ~13% of the daily requirement for fibre in its calorific value of 60 calories.
