Organic Romanesco Broccoli is thought to have originated in Italy during the 16th century in Lazio near Rome, hence the name Romanesco and has been enjoyed there ever since.

Moving now into the wider world we too can also enjoy its delicate nutty flavour which is well preserved if steamed and goes beautifully with a blue cheese or herb sauce. More delicious than either broccoli or cauliflower and requiring less time to cook, it is a low calorie, high fibre food, rich in vitamins C, K and carotenoids.
