Highlights: This delicious organic Sapo melon’s juicy flesh tastes like a cross between pear and honey dew melon. A member of the melon family Cucurbitaceae, this particular melon originates in Spain, where its spotted green skin has been likened to toad skin ‘Piel de Sapo’.

These melons are now available all year round In Australia, and are known as ‘Croc melons’ because of their resemblance to crocodile skin. They are sweeter than honeydew melons with a Brix degree of 11.5. As with all melons they are high in provitamin A and vitamin C, 100g yielding 30g vitamin C which benefits both the skin and the immune system, and are high in potassium benefitting the heart.
