Highlights: Organic strawberries are one of the most sought after fruits as they are a great source of phenolic antioxidants, with levels x2 to x11 more than other fruit. These include the heart-healthy anthocyanin pelargonidin, which is responsible for their beautiful red colour and ellagic acid which helps reduce inflammation, slows tumour growth and binds with cancer molecules to make them inactive.

Although these berries do contain simple sugars, due to their high fibre content they have a relatively low GI. They are high in vitamin C, essential for immune support and skin elasticity and offer a wealth of minerals.
