Highlights: Seedless red grapes are great as a single snack or as an addition to salads. Known as a classic gift for hospital patients with good reason, they are good source of fibre and hydration, with skins in particular containing hundreds of beneficial phytonutrients which act as antioxidants, protecting the body against degenerative disease.

Some of the better know antioxidants in grapeswould be:

• resveratrol, a stilbene phytoestrogen beneficial to human health, which acts as an antioxidant with anti-carcinogenic and anti-tumour effects;
