Pears are an excellent source of soluble & insoluble fibre offering ~5-6g total fibre per medium size pear. The highest fibre and antioxidant content is in the skin, so as these pears are certified organic please wash and eat the skin.

Apart from improving bowel movements the fibre plays a role in the health of the gut microbiome and is thought to help to prevent both obesity & type-2 diabetes.

Conference pears are a good source of anti-cancer cinnamic acids, the carotenoid antioxidants lutein & zeaxanthin which are beneficial for vision health & flavonoid anti-oxidants which help fight inflammation and prevent disease.
